First Verdict: Baltimore Cop Acquitted of All Charges in Freddie Gray Case

Officer Edward M. Nero.

I wrote very strongly against the integrity of these prosecutions after reading the affidavits in support of arrest. I did not see probable cause for any homicide charge against any of the officers. Officer Nero was charged with assault, official misconduct, and reckless endangerment of life. I wrote that this was a political prosecution and that the officers were being railroaded. Therefore, I am gladdened by this verdict. Congratulations to Officer Nero and to his attorney.
