Freddie Gray Cops Trials

From the time the undersigned, a criminal defense attorney of seven years, a prosecutor for the twenty-seven years prior, read the probable cause affidavits, he has been mortified that these prosecutions had been commenced. Mortified at the actions of State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby, mortified for the American criminal justice system.

Justice depends at the outset on the integrity and judgment of prosecutors. Once that train leaves the station it can become a runaway and difficult or impossible for the next line, defense attorneys and judges, to stop. If the train passes those stations the last stop is the jury.

Corruption has many synonyms. Which one, unethical? dishonorable?, if any fits Marilyn Mosby the undersigned knows not at this point. It is beyond incompetence, it is recklessly indifferent to the prosecutor's ethical obligation only to bring charges with sufficient evidence upon which a reasonable trier of fact would convict. There are consequences to the reckless indifference to consequences. The prosecutor in the baseless Duke rape cases was disbarred.

Ms. Mosby is now 0-for-three in these prosecutions and in the abject acquittal of Officer Caesar Goodson Mosby lost the case upon which she had the most evidence according to commentators. The acquittals have been issued by a judge who was a former prosecutor of police corruption himself.

Marilyn Mosby should voluntarily dismiss the cases against the remaining officers.
