Odd composition, no?
"Latinx Man Mourning Black Friend in Full Rigor Mortis in Street"

No! He's alive! And he speaks-"Lay down on your stomach, lay down on your stomach" he is saying to his sitting, well-set Latinx compadre.

WE HAVE A HOSTAGE SITUATION!... MAYBE...A FAT LATINX IS HOLDING A BLACK MALE HOSTAGE!...MAYBE...PREPARATORY TO ROBBING HIM PEUT ETRE!...OR SOMETHING. NO! THE BLACK MAN IS THE AGGRESSOR! HE IS ORDERING THIS POOR FAMISHED LATINX TO LAY ON HIS PROTRUDING STOMACH ON THE SIZZLING ROAD SURFACE! THE BLACK MALE WANTS SOME FRIED LATINX FOR LUNCH, PEUT ETRE.

Don't tell me to lay down on my stomach, he seems to respond, with warmth (I don't know, it just looks that way.) THE FAT LATINX HAS GOT SOMETHING IN HIS HANDS!!! IN HIS LAP! MAYBE HIS DICK...PROBABLY A GUN!!! I CAN'T SEE VERY WELL IN THE DIRECT SUN LIGHT AND BROAD DAYLIGHT!

Little did the Black man know, the heat was comin'!
Sayeth the black man.

"Latinx Man With Toy Truck in Middle of Street at Feet of Supine Black Man."

So at this particular moment in the rent fabric of space-time, and we're, oh, 40 or so seconds into this rent fabric--What seems to be the problem officer? It is an odd composition, to be sure, but not a an acutely dangerous one, no? I mean, you're watching this thing for 40-something seconds as a police officer with your gun drawn, maybe you had those worst-case scenarios racing through your cop brain at the beginning, but the Black man could not be in a less threatening, nay more vulnerable position, and our Latinx friend has not made a threatening move, has not tried to run the Black man
over with his toy truck, has seemed to bark at the Black man once as if the suggestion that he lay on
the hot street in July in Miami was deemed by him a completely unreasonable thing for the Black man to suggest, has not taken any advantage of the Black man's inferior, vulnerable position...If the Black man feels not-threatened, why would you officer, taking cover out-of-frame behind a telephone pole with your gun drawn?

Sayeth the Black man. Again. Now 47 seconds into the standoff...the stand-behind-a-telephone-pole-off cum sit-off cum lay-supine-off.

Has not what appears in the first few seconds to be an inarguably odd tableau clarified a bit, officer? Hasn't the scene at least resolved itself a bit into what it is NOT, i.e. a situation calling for you to use deadly force? Huh? Apparently not.

                                     BAM!

The police officer shot the Black man in the leg.

?

Why would that be, officer? Why would you shoot the Black man-behavior-tech-at-the-group-home?

It was an accident.

What do you mean, it was an "accident?" Did you think your service firearm was a toy gun? Were you playing with it? Did you not know what end the toy bullets came out...

It was an accident, I meant to shoot the autistic man from the group home sitting on the street playing with his toy truck.

OHHH, I see, yes, of course.
