We Baby Boomers are no less intelligent than were our parents of the Greatest Generation nor our children, the Millennials. David Morgan is a trained engineer, I am a trained lawyer. Yet, when Millennials pose to us the question, "What were you thinking?" Boomer David Morgan answered that although we knew what the right thing to do was, "somewhere we lost it. I don't know how that happened."
That is a good example of how a coward acts. We had neither the moral courage nor the political courage to act responsibly. We ran. We cut and ran and left the mess to our kids to clean up.

At this point, the bigger national scandal isn’t the president’s lawbreaking behavior - it is the Democratic Party’s refusal to impeach him for it.

IMO, this is “false equivalence” of its own sort.
What Trump is doing remains objectively the biggest threat, scandal, and problem.
Second-ranking: the silent acquiescence of the GOP Senate.
Then: it’s time for House to act.

It is one thing for a sitting president to break the law. It’s another to let him.
The integrity of our democracy isn’t threatened when a president breaks the law. It‘s threatened when we do nothing about it.
The GOP’s silence & refusal to act shouldn’t be a surprise. Ours is.

That is courage, that is leadership, that is saying Ok Boomer to Boomer Fallows.
"What can we do now?" Mr. Morgan asks and then gamely but lamely answers, "First, we can apologize." That isn't going to cut it. Our children accept our apologies without wanting them. What we "can" do is dependent upon our capabilities, isn't it? What are we capable of doing? Ideas? Advice? Ok Boomer. Do you think our children are blind? They see with crystal clarity what our ideas and advice have led to. Would you solicit the ideas and advice of failures in life, of sociopaths? We Boomers have to answer the question, "What are we capable of doing?" with intellectual courage and honesty that we have never previously demonstrated. We have to shut the fuck up. We have to listen to our children, because they are now in charge. They are our superiors. We must take orders from our children.
What may we be called upon to do? Support them. Show up at their rallies and protests. March with them (plenty of sunscreen, don't forget to hydrate). Do the heavy (but not too heavy) lifting. We are bodies, nothing else.
The Russo-American Baby Boomer Commander in Chief of the military of this country has said that any attempt to wrest power from him will result in a "Civil War like fracture." He and his Boomers have the guns; our children do not.
If there is "Civil War like" conflict our children will be massacred. Representative Ocasio-Cortez has been threatened with rape. Some of them vowed to assassinate Hillary Clinton on her way to Washington to be inaugurated if they were not successful in stealing the 2016 election.
“I will be buying an AR-15 tomorrow, because if you impeach MY PRESIDENT this way, YOU WILL HAVE ANOTHER CIVAL WAR!!! #MAGA2020,” -Rob Drake, Major League Baseball umpire October 22, 2019.
"What can we do now?" We must not abandon our children once again by offering our failed, cowardly "ideas" and know-nothing know-it-all advice. But we can, in the event of Civil War, make the ultimate sacrifice. We can be their bodyguards. Each of us can take a bullet for one of our children. And if we are to die as cannon fodder in a hopeless cause, we shall not become heroic martyrs, we will die doing what we could, and, fittingly, as we lived, uselessly and in vain.
