Would Erik Spoelstra dare tinker with Heat lineup?
(Sun-Sentinel)
Search this blog for "tinker," and you'll find 100 posts on Spoelstra tinkering with the "Heat" lineup the last three years. It was soo exasperating. But this year he has not! 9-3 start does that? In all candor that is just what I thought Spoelstra was; he couldn't help it. I don't know how Ira Winderman answered that question since I couldn't read the article on accounta "you're using a private browser" and we caught ya when I was NOT but I would guess Ira, being a fellow lawyer, would slice it thin, something like "Well, when Justise Winslow* comes back..." "Well, depending on how the current starters continue to perform..." But, I am positive that Ira also would acknowledge that those contingencies notwithstanding Spoelstra has been much less Mr. Dick-like this season than in the past.
*I am worried about Justise Winslow. The "Heat" is a very secretive organization. Officially Justise had a "headache" after the Detroit game on November 12. Officially, the headache was actually a concussion suffered in that game. Officially, Justise entered the NBA's concussion protocol and cannot play until he is cleared according to the terms of the protocol. He is ruled out of tonight's game which will be his third straight miss. I am suspicious of this for two reasons: Whatever happened in the Detroit game was not so obviously serious to observers that it made highlight reels (Like in an NFL helmet-to-helmet hit where you go, "How was he not knocked unconscious?") or was reported on as serious. Second, this makes the eighth day since. That seems to me a long time. Third, I have read the NBA's concussion protocol. It's pretty swishy. Fourth and finally, young Justise penned an article in the Player's Tribune...sometime, I forget when, 2017 maybe (?), in which he admitted to dealing with depression. I had noticed that when he was out injured he went completely dark, no social media, no comments to the press, nothing. That is really unusual today. When Justise was injured he went dark and went to a dark place. Like those times Justise has been silent the last eight days. He is such a great young person that I hope I am wrong and his absence is due to a concussion and not the Black Dog following him. God bless Justise.
