I predict Dr. Anthony Fauci is going to resign. He appeared at "an event" is all the description that was given for Senator Doug Jones of Alabama. Trump is exceedingly invested in that race. He was in 2017 when he endorsed, against his "instincts," incumbent Luther Strange, who was appointed to the seat when Trump made Jeff Sessions his A.G. Which Trump has regretted but once and that is continuously. Sessions is running for his old seat back but his brand has been so damaged by Trump's non-stop pummeling, that former football coach Tommy Tuberville, who Trump has endorsed, is sure to win the GOP primary.
Trump isn't listening to Dr. Fauci anymore. Fauci said this week that he has not briefed Trump in two months; Trump has gone weeks without even talking to him at all and this week Trump told Hannity,
“Dr. Fauci’s a nice man, but he’s made a lot of mistakes. They’ve been wrong about a lot of things, including face masks. Maybe they’re wrong, maybe not. A lot of them said don’t wear a mask, don’t wear a mask. Now they’re saying wear a mask. A lot of mistakes were made, a lot of mistakes.”
He has not made any mistakes, Fauci has not made any mistakes, Trump has made ALL of the mistakes but now he's blaming Fauci.
Fauci should have resigned a long time ago, when Trump stopped talking to him. I understand that he has dedicated his life to this work, that he is 79 years old, but doesn't Fauci see? He has been made an enabler of Trump. "Just going to keep doing my job the best I can," does not cut it for a doctor tending to the sick whose boss one step ahead is sickening and killing tens of thousands of people and sending them back to you. "Okay, don't do that again." "Please stop." No, that doesn't cut it. You're not helping at that point you're enabling. And Dr. Fauci has been enabling for two months, at least. He would do more good resigning for the firestorm that would ensue would engulf Trump. That is how you say "Stop" effectively.
