30-23 the final in overtime.
After the last post last night, I went back to ESPN for one last check. The next couple of series played out exactly as I had foreseen. UNC scored the touchdown to get within three; they then got an immediate stop; it was a Kenny Pickett INT that changed possession, and the “Tar Heels” were down to the Pitt 37 when I snapped the lights out for the night.
But, I guess we must have held them to a FG rather than the soul-snatching winning TD that was the final scene in my nightmare. And then won it in OT.
A prognosticator who writes enough about his prognistications will inevitably write contradictory things so that however the game turns out he can point to a snippet and say, “See! I was right.” I invoke the prognosticator’s license here. I wrote on Tuesday that I was sticking with my gut sense that Pitt “was due” to win one of these close games at home and I was right. :)
