Putin Has No Good Way Out, and 

That Really Scares Me-Tom Friedman

Me too. Friedman has clearly identified the crucial issues time and again. He has provided some guidance. Not on this one though and it is the hinge on which hangs the world's fate. Every day that this war lasts is going to be the worst yet, for Ukraine, Russia, America, the world. The "fog of war" is nothing compared with with the daze that stress, anxiety, desperation, produce in the mind of a leader when there's no way out. 

The guidance that we need is obvious: We have to provide Putin a way out. We have to have a strategic goal. Once that goal is fixed the path out, for Ukraine, for Russia, for Vladimir Putin, for America, for the world, will be lit.
