In between posts I looked up Trae Young's. They're phenomenal. He's the only guy in NCAA history to lead the nation in ppg and apg in the same season.
He has averaged 25.3 ppg in his four season in the pros. In his second year, 2019/20, he averaged, get this: 29.6/game :o He's only 23 years old. He's a volume scorer, does not shoot high percentages, 44% (35.5%) career. There, apparently, is the rub. He has averaged 9.1 apg, 4.1 topg (career), a better than 2-1 ast-t.o. ratio is acceptable. But his "Hawks" teams have never won. 29-52, 20-47, (14th in the conference) 41-31, 43-39 (this season). Went to the conference finals last season as a five-seed. They regressed this season. Regressed in his 29.6/game season by 9! When you think of guys who average 25 ppg for their career you think elite-elite. I, at least, don't think of Trae Young as elite-elite.
