FT Miami 115 Atlanta 91 (1-0)

"Hawks" went to the Eastern Conference Finals last year, now! Not a flock of Pigeons.

Sooo glad to see that Spo parceled out the minutes--among 12 players! Don't understand what Doc Rivers was doing the other night. No "Heat" player played even 30' except Butler (33'), which is not even a statistically full game (the number varies, 36 is the most common).

The unquestioned star of the game was Duncan Robinson. 27 points on 9/10 shooting, 8/9 from distance, in only 23' of play.

The "Heat" shot lights out, 52.4%, and tailed off only slightly from their half-time number from three-point range, 47.4%.

Atlanta has substantially regressed since their conference finals run in 2019/20 and have had an uneven season. They have a star, but one that flickers on and off, in Trae Young. Their coach is Nate McMillan and I don't really know his reputation. There's no reason for this team to have been so unprepared and lethargic as they were today. They had yesterday off. They played Friday, eliminating Cleveland. They were never in this game. Never. They could go off next game, for sure. But I don't see them winning four of the next six games.
