Good morninga Ell's & Gee's, Eff's & Ee's, and all the ships at sea. We interrupt the mishandling of nuclear secrets with this item from America's newspaper of record which is located in evermore disgusting New York City.

The Lamp That’s Taking Over New York

A sleek newcomer, the Pina Pro, is appearing on droves of outdoor tables in the city — and sometimes disappearing, as diners fall for its mellow glow.

New York City is disgusting for many things, its filth, its crime, which this article admits some of its chicest residents indulge with this lamp, it's polio, its noise, singularly its people, its rats, which an earlier story in the Timies allowed sometimes scamper across the the table tops of outdoor restaurants, its noise..That last is referenced in this piece:

She’s tall and svelte, with a sleek conical hat. She frequents New York City’s most coveted restaurant tables. She lights up a room.

Perhaps you’ve seen her? She’s a lamp. The Pina Pro cordless lamp from the Italian design company Zafferano, to be exact. And she’s everywhere.

In the evenings, servers at the stylish Italian restaurant Altro Paradiso, in SoHo, place Pina Pros on the tables outside, where the 14 tiny LED lights in each one cast a mellow, romantic glow over the pappardelle with duck ragΓΉ. A glow cozy enough, perhaps, to make you forget about the rat that just ran by, or the noise from the Ducati dealership across the street.
...
...when New York restaurants were allowed to start outdoor service after being shut down, owners suddenly had to make dining on sidewalks and streets — amid the smells and sounds of the city — feel as intimate as dining indoors.

The trash, the decaying corpses, the ignorance of personal hygiene; the screams of crime victims, the wail of police and ambulance sirens.
...
Living like rats and living among rats accounts for the behavior of New Yawkers, famous for their civilized hospitality:

At Altro Paradiso, a few lamps have mysteriously disappeared...When the restaurant didn’t yet have one for every table, “people would fight over them,” she added.
...

But there will always be those who prefer dinner by candlelight. On a recent night at Altro Paradiso, Jillian McKigney switched off the Pina Pro at her outdoor table, saying it was “a little sterile.”

"Sterile": Clean, like civilized and kind is just not a New York thing!

We oughta get our $24 back and return Manhattan to the Indians.
