Doesn’t it seem like this?

Both are having first seasons beyond any fan’s or booster’s worst nightmare. It is inconceivable that each of these two accomplished coaches would fail so spectacularly at their alma maters.

Mario is of course not even through his first season. Even in Scott’s first season (what was it, six straight losses?) the lower lip quivered as you kept the upper stiff; you could not look away from the gathering gloom. NU was NEVER going to fire Scott during or after that first season of course, it was Nebraska! They don’t do that shit. (Miami, on the other hand...) But you could not escape the gripping sensation on your windpipe that you couldn't speak the truth that you knew: a horror was unfolding before you, a catastrophe was in the making. No one expected that first year, NO ONE!

Now Mario. The Miami program is out of fucking control, rudderless, leaderless, the players lacking belief, jaded, quitters, prima donnas. That didn't happen overnight with Mario's arrival. That has been there like a rot. They are not playing for Mario. I don't know why, just as nobody understood why players didn't play for Scott at Nebraska. Every week seems to regenerate the same “New Low” headline. 45-3 at home to a 5-3 FSU team when UM was ONE measly game behind at 4-4. How do you get 45-3 out of that?

Each guy at his program is “a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma”. UM fans: this is not going to work out and I don't know why.
