USC (10) leads sixteenth Tulane 28-21 with 11:55 left in the 3rd. SC is only a 1.5 point pick, very surprising to me, but still a loss to the "Green Wave" would be further embarrassment to the PAC 12 after heavily-favored UCLA's stumble against Pitt in the Sun Bowl.
At 5 p.m. ET #11 PSU plays eighth Utah in the Rose Bowl, which historically was played at 4 pm on New Year's Day. Historically the Rose Bowl matched the PAC and Big 10 champions. Utah is the PAC champ but PSU is the third-best team in the B1G after Michigan and OSU. How the mighty have fallen. The two best B1G teams have already lost in the national semi-finals. Whoever loses this game will further dent their conference's reputation (SC and UCLA are, of course, headed to the B1G). PSU is -1.5. I am going to predict a "Utes" win.
