Tulane scored with :09 left to beat USC. That's a big bruise. Took over after a SC safety (?)...Wait, it's worse than that now that I look at the play-by-play...So, SC led 45-30 with 4:30 to go...Yeah, my eyes do not deceive me, +15 with only 270 seconds to play. Tulane scored in two plays. So 45-37 with 4:07 to play. Then SC fumbled the fucking kick off at their own one--they recovered the bug on the rug. They then ran it twicet, the first gaining no whatcha call yardage, the second they lost the yard they started for a safety and tyou points for the "Wave." SC then of course has to kick off (I thought you had to punt after a safety but whatever) as those are the "rules." Tulane got the bug back at their own 34 with 3:20 left on the sundial. Get this: first play from le scrimage, SACK. Loss of 11 yards back to their 23. Exactly 3' left now. 3' to go 67 yards. Next play, run, 10 yards; next next play, run, 5 yards. Exactly 2:00 left and they're on their own 33--which is one yard further back than they were at 3:20. The "Wave" is receding. (They won this fucking game can you believe that?) On 4th and 6 at their own 38 with 77' left, the "Trojan" D breaks and a wave of green jism rushes out for 8 yards and a first down. Whew! by Tulane and they call a TO with 1:08 left. Seems like a good time. NEXT play after the TO: SACK. They lose 4 yards back to their own 42. Now exactly 1:00 left. (The even number times are biblical, no?) Skipping ahead to 25', another 4th down.4th and 10 at their own 46. On 4th and 10 at the Tulane 46 the fucking Southern Californian "Trojan" dam breaks like Lake Conemaugh, a 24 yard pass completion to the Johnstown 30. Spike the ball. 22' left. 24 yard pass complete to the Johnstown 6. Two plays later the "Green Wave" crashes ashore and the "Trojans" are no more.
