ASK IRA: Was NBA deadline a Heat moment missed or a pause toward something enduring? 😂
For all the consternation about the Heat’s inaction at Thursday’s NBA trading deadline, it’s not as if you have to do something during every personnel period. You also don’t have to make a trade at the draft or sign someone during free agency. [Hell, if being the Miami 45s is good enough for you, you don’t have to do anything, ever!] This just wasn’t the Heat’s time. They essentially knew that. [When you use “essentially” that way it means “We didn’t know, we thought it was our time, we thought other orgs would be lining up to get K-Lo and Donut, we were "very active" trying to get Jae Crowder 😁, Kelly Olynyk😂, so we’re saying retrospectively 'we essentially knew it wasn’t our time' as the best spin we can put on it.”] Their time will come. [THEIR TIME HAS COME AND GONE!] Or, as The Byrds took from Ecclesiastes, 😂“To everything turn, turn, turn; there is a season turn, turn, turn; and a time to every purpose under Heaven.” Sometimes, it’s about even more than Pat Riley’s words to live by. [Actually, AT ALL TIMES "it's about even more than Riley's words to live by"!😁] Let’s wait on the buyout deadline, see how the playoffs play out and then what the summer brings. [When everybody will be older, creakier, and staler. The market for K-Lo will surely improve then!😂]
Ira, you out-did yourself. As total destruction of reputation this ticks all the boxes in the most efficient manner conceivable.
