Tell me nobody took my investment alert that Pitt wouldn't cover -15. I'd be mortified. I read a pre-game that Pitt has "played down" to competition this year. That affected my often-wrong-always-certain. I don't think any decent team is capable of playing, and still trying to win, down to Louisville. Besides the Sibande missed-windmill-turned-trey--which speaks volumes--I only followed the play-by-by on my 'puter but from the start, what was it 24-16?, I diagnosed Louisville accurately. I use superlatives a lot I know and I'm going to use another one tonight: If I have witnessed (or followed) a more inept, desultory, undisciplined major college basketball team than Louisville tonight, I'll be goddamned if I can recall what team that is.

How did Louisville get here? Rick Pitino, one of the greatest college coaches of all time and Tom Jurich, one of the best A.D.'s of his generation, were both fired in a scandal. David Patchett replaced Pitino and was fired after one year. He went 22-14 but his team was knocked out of the NIT quarter-finals and he was fired. Patchett's successor, Chris Mack, had two successive 20-win seasons but he got wrapped up in an FBI extortion scandal and was fired. Kenny Payne was hired this year and he's now 3-21 in his first year.

The U of L has hit rock bottom. Yeah, they could be 2-22 or 1-23, or 0-24 but 3-21 is hard against the bottom-most rocks. U of L is an absolute dumpster fire, an ABSOLUTE DUMPSTER FIRE and the worst team I can ever remember being familiar with at this level. Truly, sincerely sad.
