For those who don’t know, Carl is Bo’s brother. The Carl skit was so popular that people in different states had custom license plates, “CARLLL”. Carl Pelini did get in legal trouble. Hired by FAU as head football coach he was fired for using cocaine in his office. And in 2021 he was arrested in Ohio for domestic battery. 

The charges were dropped. All to say, Faux Pelini nailed Carl’s character before that character was fully known.

Faux’s advice to his Nebraska successor, Mike Riley:

I once deposed a police officer with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. Standard background question: "Any other law enforcement experience?" to which this officer answered "Lincoln, Nebraska P.D." Me: "Do you follow Faux Pelini?" Him: "Actually, I do." Sometimes police departments played into the Carl skits:

I wish Faux had never quit his hobby. Oh, he still tweets but not extensively. He started writing for The Athletic and now is on Substack but Twitter shorts were made for Faux and vice versa.
