I was geographically raised in western Pennsylvania. Culturally my upbringing reflected the working-class communities in western Pennsylvania— from weekly church attendance to the expectation that one would earn his keep. This made me city-loving, pollution-hating and hard-working to understand why God didn’t like me and I got out as soon as I could.
