Blue Twitter is all giddy over Trump's mugshot in Georgia, on guess his weight games, etc. and I have been thinking about this all day. I put more weight, not exclusive weight, on my first impression on a matter than I do on subsequent thought-massaged impressions. My first thought is purer, unfiltered. If I have a doubt I will wait until I have the same thought twice.  In this instance my first reaction was "No." I didn't like the arraignment glee. Then, frankly, I forgot about it. I've posted a lot today and it got pushed to the back of my mind. The matter was revived just a few minutes ago when I saw Bill Kristol's riposte to Laura Ingraham:

Bill Kristol
@BillKristol

Mug shots aren’t good or bad. They’re facts, signifying the fact of a criminal indictment. Mug shots don’t care about your feelings

Laura Ingraham

@IngrahamAngle

These people are sick. How is a mug shot of the former president in any way necessary or in any way good for America?

Now...C'mon man. "Mug shots aren't good or bad"? That's absurd. Mug shots are BAD. Kristol's second point..."signifying the fact of a criminal indictment" is, to me, equally specious. We have the goddamn indictment, we don't need the mug shot "fact" "signifying" the indictment "fact." Alvin Bragg and Jack Smith considered mug shots in Trump's case as gratuitous and unnecessary and didn't require them. To me, that's what Fani Willis should do, also.
