Yesterday, at 6:59PM Islamic Jihad fired a barrage of around 10 rockets towards Israel.
One of the rockets misfired (fairly common event) and hit the parking lot of a hospital, killing many innocent people.
Hamas immediately understood that this was the Islamic Jihad’s rocket, and launched a massive lie campaign, blaming Israel.
The NYT immediately adopted Hamas’ version, peddling this lie for hours.
We now know the facts, cross-checked from four different sources.
Yes, it took time, because serious investigations take time.

Aren’t you supposed to check facts? Isn’t that your claim to fame? Is there a special exemption from fact-checking when it’s the Jewish State involved?
The Times ledes CLEARLY state, "Palestinians Say" ALONG with Israel's position in two, with the first stating in the sidebar a more precise death count. The first lede says "Israeli Strike"; the second says "Strike" without attribution, and the third states "Blast". "Strike" and "Blast" are accurate.
I don't subscribe to NYT anymore so I don't know if the reporting under the ledes peddled "this lie for hours". A "lie", a deliberate falsehood, "peddled", meaning "try to sell" for money by NYT. No sir. Absolutely not sir. As for "Yes, it took time, because serious investigations take time.", that was what raised suspicions, Bennett, not only in NYT but in AP. The "facts" are Israel has fired missiles at Palestinians where Israel told Palestinians to go! The fact an Israeli strike hit a United Nations school. The fact is an Israeli strike hit a residence killing 11 civilians. The fact is the Israeli Defense Ministry tweeted a bogus three-video composite and then had to take the tweet down when Twitter viewers pointed out that the time stamps on the videos were wrong. Why did this investigation take time, Bennett? Did "the Jewish State" not know precisely where its aircraft were and which had fired missiles in real time at the time of the strike? Apparently not. Why not?
The New York Times has nothing to apologize to you or "the Jewish State" for.
