Duncan Robinson lost his starting assignment last year and has been written off as a waste of $90M by many, including me. But he is having one of the best seasons of his career and tonight maybe his best game ever in a "Heat" uni. For tonight Duncan played 32' uber productive minutes for his short-handed team, scored 21 points on 9/19, but this is the key stat in Duncan's revival: he was only 3/10 from range, which for years was his only shot. Spo belatedly in Duncan's career, just last season that I noticed, gave him license to attack the rim. So he was 6/10 from inside the arc tonight, 60% shooting from <23'. He had 6 rebs, 7 assts, 1 steal, only one foul and nobody was close to his +33 in the execrable +/-. For this young but lengthening season he is averaging 14.7 ppg on 49% (44.7 from range) shooting. His $18M/per salary looks increasingly worth that kind of production. Spo did not trust Duncan for years and his confidence and performance waned. Now with more trust both are waxing. Soo happy for Duncan.
