Steelers trading Kenny Pickett reveals team's
inner dysfunction; Pittsburgh now goes all-in on Russell Wilson
Wilson needs to play well in order to cover up the mess that has been Pittsburgh's handling of the QB situation
It does seem a sign of dysfunction. And going all in on Russell Wilson?! Who was it, Denver, who just took like a $40M cap hit to waive him?
The "Steelers" offense was unwatchable the last two seasons as I wrote here several times. Fans however, from what I could tell, blamed OC Matt Canada (another ex-Pitt guy) more than they did Pickett. But Mason Rudolph did give the team a lift in the last few weeks and playoffs and there were signs, NEVER seen in this org before, that the team was beginning to unravel. There were lax efforts by at least one player, reported grumbling by others, HC Mike Tomlin was taking incoming, which "Steelers" owner Art Rooney II seemed to confirm in a post-season interview, stating that the team had to win a playoff game next season; and there was practically a player revolt (per Gary Dulac again) over Pickett's status as "preferred" number one QB going into next season. And they ARE all-in on Wilson; Mason Rudolph signed with Tennessee last Friday. The "Steelers" have no QB other than Russell Wilson. That is dysfunction.
