I read Haynes' tweet a couple of times. I did alert that there seemed to be two things that Haynes was saying although the two things were in one paragraph unseperated except by period. But I didn't know for sure.
Here's the chalk:
Only one thing being said: Jimmy wants out.
However. But.
This is the first sentence:
Sources: Jimmy Butler’s camp has repeatedly told Heat he’s in shape, healthy and ready to continue his career and move past this immediately.
And Yahoo Sports read that as different from Haynes' second sentence:
According to NBA insider Chris Haynes, no teams have contacted the Heat to ask permission to talk to Butler about his future. On top of that, Butler's camp has attempted to reengage the Heat to work out their differences.
🧐
On Tuesday, Haynes tweeted:
Sources: Jimmy Butler’s camp has repeatedly told Heat he’s in shape, healthy and ready to continue his career and move past this immediately. Their messaging to Heat has been to negotiate best deal possible and once in red zone, if that team is granted permission by MIA to speak with Butler’s rep to discuss his longterm future, that dialogue would be welcomed. To date, no team has asked for permission.
One can take that first sentence to mean Jimmy is open to kiss-and-make-up with "Heat". I did consider that, which is why I read the whole tweet a couple of times. Having thought about Haynes' meaning(s) I conclude that Jimmy considering kiss-and-make-up is so contrary to all other reporting, and is so ignorant of the "Heat's willingness to kiss-and-make-up that Jimmy is not readinf the room--he'a not even in the room.
