When I was at the pharmacy today I saw this old postcard (one of many that Robert, the private owner, has for sale).

Halcyon Hotel, aka Halcyon Hall. So, I looked it up when i got home. A design sketch was prepared by Stanford White; opened in 1906, torn down and replaced by the Alfred I. Dupont building in 1937 (National Historic Landmark; wedding venue prices start at $18,000) (I WAS on adderall)). Six months after the Halcyon opened White was murdered at Madison Square Garden (unrelated). The murderer was a guy named Thaw, heir to a Pittsburgh fortune, who went to Pitt, was later acquited by reason of insanity in the murder, and lived out the rest of his life like all insane people do in...Miami.

So yeah, that's how I spent my afternoon. 👀

I'm going to go watch Eleven now.
