Weak

I have confession to make: I do not believe that I ever read Bleak House straight through. Many parts I have read many times but I was also aware that I had skipped over certain others, those of "Esther's Narrative", in rereading. I thought over the years that I must have read the whole thing at least once. I now thing that I never did. I am reading it straight through now, with difficulty, and exasperation with Dickens in those parts. The book is mainly "Esther's Narrative". As such it must rise and fall and it has fallen significantly in my appraisal.
