"Fifteen cups of weak coffee do not make a pot of strong coffee."

The "Heat" roster is littered with first round draft picks in the 10's. A championship team has seldom--if ever-- been based on mid-first talent without a superstar or three. The "Heat" now have a plethora of very good backcourt players, with the exception of a true point guard who can play the up tempo game that Erik Spoelstra yearns for. They didn't get a "playmaker" in Norman Powell.

The other hole in the roster is in the middle. No center, if that word can be used in this positionless world, no rim protector, glass cleaner and rebounding machine. Bam Adebayo increasingly plays positionless and Kel'el War is just weak.

These are the reasons that the c.w. is that even in the dissipated Least, the "Heat" will not move up in the conference pecking order. They will not go 37-45 again but a reversion to their 11-year mean of 44-38 is a stretch, and the eight seed and avoidance of the play-in is too a reach.
