Jalen had FORTY-SEVEN points. Hoo DOGGIE!
KAT had "quiet night" lol, 2 pts, 6 rebs in 29'.
Kel'el 28 pts NINETEEN REBS (team high both) in 35'...but was -6. Once again, it's getting repetitive for this team, the starters, with the exception of Norman were all -'s, actually the bench was all -'s as well, the only Heater who saw playing time who was a + was Norman, a starter, at +3. In a loss, the whole losing team with negatives is not that unusual.
I wrote at HT or whenever it was that what struck me about the box score at that time was Kel'el's overproduction and Bam Adebayo's underproduction. You could say Bam had a "quiet night" as well: 34', 14 pts, 9 rebs, 3 t.o.s.
3J had an excellent game. He played as many or more mins, 34', as all but two Heaters, and had 23 pts, 5 asts, only 1 t.o. and finished -2, second best on Miami.
I don't know who Davion was guarding but nobody save KAT had an "off night" that my favorite Heater is famous for. Davion played 31', had 13 pts, 8 asts, 3 turnovers. Mike Brown played nine Bockers: three were in -, KAT -1, Bridges, 40', 24 pts, -2, and scrub Jordan Clarkson, 18', 10 points, -2.
The "Heat" shot well, 47% (49%,) but the "Knicks" shot better: 55% (53%). That is evidence of Jalen Brunson's brilliance but also that is a team stat, it means the "Heat" has gotten far away from it's longg identity as a defensive team.
You are what your record says you are and the "Heat" are 15-14 which as a decimal projects to a 42-39 record. But it's more concerning even than that for we have lost 7 of 8. We were 14-7 as New Miami. The Association adjusted and disabled the Wheel and right now we don't have an identity...beyond, that is, 15-14.
