According to Gov. Shapiro's book. "Dana Remus", White House Counsel, posed the questions, which included follow-ups,
“Well, we have to ask."
“We just wanted to check."; and,
"Have you ever communicated with an undercover agent of Israel?".
Neither Harris, nor "Remus" responded to questions about the vetting of Shapiro. They need not, I believe Shapiro. Harris lies, she lied about her "vetting" of Pete Buttigieg; Shapiro told The Atlantic in an earlier report that Harris lied that he had plans on how to decorate the Vice President's office. Even if Harris or Remus denies the antisemitic vetting questions, I would not believe them.
Shapiro's answers to these antisemitic questions were,
1) “Was she kidding? I told her how offensive the question was," and,
2) “If they were undercover, how the hell would I know?”
I completely understand Shapiro's incredulous, insulted non-answer responses. But I do wish he had answered the questions directly. I will say also that it strikes me as odd that the Harris campaign would ask an antisemitic question when Harris is married to an American Jewish man, but then Harris' mother was right, maybe she had "just fallen out of a cocoanut tree".
Jews and Genitals, the undersigned has views on American Israeli relations, American Middle East Muslim relations and American Middle East policy generally that cannot be fitted into a headline. Just search this blog. But this vetting questioning is outside of those very complicated, overlapping boxes and were blatantly antisemitic and therefore, just wrong.
Kamala Harris would not have been the Democratic nominee had she been forced to win even an extremely abbreviated primary process. She would not have survived that vetting. But although it makes me slightly nauseous to think about it even now, and in this hypothetical scenario, if I had known what I know about Harris now, and even if she had chosen Shapiro to be her veep, I would have voted for the ticket over Trump-Vance and thrown up later.
Harris, Israel, Muslim Middle East countries, Palestinians, just GO THE FUCK AWAY.
Good night.

European Union Officials Lean Toward Negotiating, Not Retaliating, Over Trump Tariff Threat
The headline is from NYT but that is the story. It should not be the story. There should be no negotiations. "Our position on Greenland is non-negotiable ... It is in our collective interest to work together and not to start a war of words."--UK Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy. Since the U.S. buying Greenland is non-negotiable...what is there to negotiate?
Europe Should Strike a Hard, Surprise Blow
Europe is ignoring basic grade school advice on handling bullies: punch back, negotiate later. It's blackmail. Trump, and the American people, must feel the pain of a punch.
French president Emmanuel Macron is pushing European leaders to activate the so-called nuclear option, the Anti-Coercion Instrument (ACI). That is what should be done, but the other European leaders want to negotiate. Europe will hurt its hand punching back, but Trump and the American people will take one right in the face.
