The National Basketball Association's New York "Knickerbockers" are just godawful this year. Their record is 5-30:o:o which tickles me because I can't stand their first-year president Phil Jackson. But I don't write for that reason. Nor do I write because I like basketball and spectator sports on accounta that would violate my New Year's resolution.
No, I write about the "Knicks" and basketball on accounta there were some quotes in the report of one of their games last week that tickled me. The "Knicks" lost to the Detroit "Pistons" who were themselves godawful. At one point they were 5-23:o but had won four in a row and so their coach was asked if this was, like, a trend or something. Replied Stan van Gundy:
"Is it sustainable? I doubt we'll go undefeated the rest of the way."
And there was the quote from one of the New York players:
"If you don't get offended by somebody scoring on you, then I don't know what to tell you. That's like..."[PAUSE: Analogy incoming! Check out J.R. Smith's analogy.]
"That's like somebody coming in your house and just taking your video game out of your hand and whatever..."
Yes! It is just like that! Lol. Oh God bless young Mr. Smith whoever he is, that tickled me more than Phil Jackson being 5-30.
