Found this picture. The face is so familiar-Churchill-but have you ever seen a Churchill portrait like that, ever see Churchill look like that? We're used to the Bulldog, the V-for-victory-sign. That however is Churchill in, as I recall,
1919 1916, after the Gallipoli Campaign. That was a disaster for the Brits, disaster for Churchill personally and politically as head of Admiralty. Just about killed Churchill's political ambitions, he was taunted with it years afterward. Taunted and haunted. Looks like it just about killed Churchill physically, too. Thin, face drawn, hunched over, eyes sorrowful and sad.
