As if he could snap his fingers and make it happen! As if he could make it HAPPEN! What universe does this man live in?
"A Cruz-Rubio tickets (SIC! Seriously, are all Republicans retarded?) makes the most sense right now." Not a month ago, not two months ago, not three months ago, "right now."
There's an axiom among criminal defense attorneys: "the plea offer always gets better closer to trial." I once had a prosecutor refuse to make a reasonable plea offer, refuse to consider any reasonable defense counter-offer and did both dismissively. Her demeanor was "You and your client are worthless pieces of shit." May be! lol but she didn't have a CASE. I knew that, she in her obstinate idiocy didn't know that. We were forced to go to trial. I was crestfallen. A jury can always convict. My client's life was on the line. She put on her case and there was no there there. At the close of her case, when the judge was going to direct a verdict of acquittal, she came up to me. "I'll consider 10 years," PRISON. I politely declined on behalf of my client, who was sitting next to me huffing. "Motion for judgment of acquittal granted."

He lives in another world, which is my complaint also about YOUR Republican nominee for president of the United States, Donald J. Trump! Trump goes around, "I'll build a Wall!," "I'll negotiate a better deal with--pick it--China, Iran, on NAFTA," oblivious that there are other actors involved, that being president is not being CEO, he can't say "You're Fired!" Trump goes around oblivious to details like checks-and-balances, separation of powers, Democrats, other nations' leaders, he's oblivious to everyone except HIMSELF.
This guy Erickson is similarly oblivious to Trump! Doesn't Trump have some say in this? He does. Maybe Trump reacts to this flash of inspiration with, (forehead slap) "You're right! That DOES make sense "right now" as I am about to lop off all your heads. Okay, I'll just suspend my campaign." That could happen, in the beclouded world of chemically altered brain cells.
But, closer to Mother Earth, what if Trump doesn't cotton to the idea? (I bet he doesn't.) What if he responds derisively (I bet he does.) and tells Erickson, Cruz and Rubio, I'll beat all your asses like you're rented mules!
"Pair up, announce the deal, let Rubio win Florida..." It's that easy, huh? Trump is up in Florida 30 points, WHO is going to "let Rubio win Florida?" Trump? HAHAHAHAHAH. Here's another set of actors for Erick to consider: VOTERS! What if, when presented with this excellent idea, the voters of Florida say FUCK YOU ERIcK ERICKSON! HOW are you going to "let Rubio win Florida" without considering what actors Trump and Florida voters want?
I tell you, Republicans are a lower form of evolutionary human life. They just don't think like normal homo sapiens. Homo sapiens Republicanus are not "equipped" to govern this country, they're not equipped to dress themselves in the morning. They are non compos mentis. But, they are good for laughs.
