Boy oh boy. A 41 year old mum and Member of Parliament, Jo Cox, was shot and stabbed to death in her constituency in West Yorkshire today. The murderer has been identified as Tommy Mair and is in custody.

Didn't know what the motive for this was when I first ran across it, just moments after it made the news, and so didn't post anything. It is reasonably clear now. Britain is in the midst of deciding whether to stay in the European Union or "Brexit," Ms. Cox-Looks like such a pixie, doesn't she?-was a "Stay" advocate, while her murderer, described as a "loner," (I think we should retire "loner," like "radical Islam" from the lexicon of political homicide.) is reported to have shouted "Britain first!" before the attack. A 77 year old man was also injured but is not in any danger.

Britain has handgun control laws so Prime Minister David Cameron will not be making any appeals for that, the murder weapon is described as a sawed-off shotgun or a homemade job. Attacks on MP's are exceedingly rare.
