They're still counting votes

4,000,000 remain to be counted in California, which Clinton won with 62%. In Washington, 55% Clinton, 700,000 votes remain. One prediction is that when they're all counted Clinton will have won the popular vote by 2,000,000.

I am sick to my stomach.

She could win California by 10,000,00, it wouldn't matter. The election is decided in the Electoral College whose votes are proportioned by state and she has already gotten California's electoral votes. She has irretrievably lost too many states in the E.C.

What to do--We've got to start with determining the presidential winner by popular vote. That may not mean abolishing the Electoral College, which would require constitutional amendment. I don't know. It just seems to me that we could pass a law, "Henceforth the election of the president shall be determined by national popular vote" that would not require abolishment of the E.C., which can only be done by amending the Constitution. The E.C. could still meet, could still vote, but the president would be decided by popular vote.
