The Cleveland "Cavaliers" are losing and the Miami "Heat" are winning.
It is the halfway point of the NBA season. Miami made it six in a row in Indian-No-Place Wednesday night winning 114-106, their second win in dreaded back-to-back road games, and against good teams, Toronto Tuesday night, second in the East, and the "Pacers," eighth. The record extrapolates to 48 wins.
Miami sits two little peepy games behind "The Land" of the "Browns" in third place who are coming off two poopy games in which they scored 99 points in each but the other teams, the "Howling Canines" scored 127 and the self same "Ruptures" tallied 133. LBJ said "it's the regular season" by way of explanation. T'is and it's a long regular season and it's a January tradition in The Land to sleep walk through a stretch. Like "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" in a "funk," James elaborated.
Cleve will be alright. Miami is alright now that we're into January. They were 11-30 this time last year. Miami was in its own funk earlier this season and had to sprint to get to 24-17. Hobble. Dion Waiters began the season as he ended last, sitting out with a bum ankle. Reports are he's going to have ankle surgery and will be lost for the duration after eschewing same this summer and, by the way, signing a $52 million contract. #YoungWhiteside, he of the $80 mil K, missed eight games, I think it was, with a "bone bruise" and Coach Spo has seen fit to give him a tail bone bruise sitting on the bench late in games since he has been back.
Disappointed that Miami didn't come charging out of the gate to start this season. I predicted 60 wins and a finish above Cleve. I was a Believer in last season's 30-11 second half. Team Happy. Thought it would carry over to start this season. Thought they'd sprint in Happiness to start this season. Didn't. Wheezed and hobbled and bone bruised instead.
This "Heat" team hasn't done shit. They are January's Team. They have not earned funks. Cleve has done shit. One can believe the King and his Court will sprint the second half and go deep in the 'loffs. Can't believe, or must do so on faith rather than like evidence, that the "Heat" will sprint to the end. Disappointed in that. January's Team.
