Masochistic Saturday. Man, I did this one up good, didn't I? Fucking watched game film and everything.
Yes, I did. But it is not called Masochistic Saturday, that would "limit" my audience. It's called Schadenfreude Saturday. That's gotten me where I am today. Ha-hum.
So here's one for all you Schadens and Freudes, Florida International, FIU, the "Collapsed Bridges" lead scUM, the University of Miami Gardens, 10-0 halfway through the 2Q (although UM does have the ball on the FIU 29). So much history between these two. You have your players riot that caused the cancellation of the series back in aught-six. You have Butch Davis, FIU's current coach, coaching against the team he used to coach in the fin de siècle. You have FIU using Miami "Marlins" Stadium as its home field for today's brawl. Which sits right on the site of scUM's former home, the Orange Bowl, which 10-2 Pitt, which fell to 7-4 on the season, will be playing in on January 1. So, as they close the first half with FIU now leading 13-0 I take freude in UM's schaden and invite you to also.
Baylor's "Raping Bears" buggered Bevo today in Wacko, 24-10. Horns fall to 6-5, which is just not acceptable at UT.
USC prolly caused James Franklin to wince today. The "Trojans," #23 before today (on a 7-4 record (?)) beat up on Chip Kelly's UCLA "Bruins" 52-35 thereby prolly saving head Tommy Clay Helton his job.
#13 Meeshagan blew out now 7-4 Indiana 39-14 in Bloomington. "Hoosiers" not a bad team. Who?Shut up. "Wolves" have blown out four straight opponents, now #8 Notre Dame, dreadful Maryland in dreadful Maryland, very mediocre East Lansing Spartak, and now the Injuns. I made a fool out of myself with Pitt today but you have to give me due on my PSU-OSU call. That's the one I recommended as an investment vehicle today and I do believe I'm above .500 on my investment picks. All leading up to: Next Saturday at high noon, in the Big House, Michigan "welcomes" Ohio State. Who Jim Harbaugh has never beaten. Who dropped #2 all over the Horseshoe today (I've looked at replays of the three lost fumbles and PSU used no innovative technique to dislodge the balls.). I am NOT predicting, not even the line, tonight. I note merely that OSU looked menschliches, allzumenschliches today.
A&M fell today, for only the 4th time this season, which given their schedule is commendable, betwixt the shrubbery to the #4 Silver Britches 19-13 in the Athens of America.
Finally, #21 Oklahoma State beat West Virginia 20-14 in Couch Burn. 'Eers having a tough yeer, fall to 4-7.
Now I guess I'll check in on Miami's flaming basketball team. Later. Maybe.
