*

OSU just took the lead, its first of the night, on a late 3Q TD. 22-21 and my prediction is that Wisc just lost its last lead. *UPDATE: OSU 31 Wisc 21, 9:59 left to play. Any OSU win by whatever margin will sure a playoff of pretty much the usual suspects, OSU, LSU, Clemson, and I predict OU. If that's accurate the semi-finals should be ding-hummers, OSU-OU and LSU-Clemson. The four best teams were not supposed to always the same three or four teams year after year after year but these are clearly the four best and that's the committee's only charge.

If those predictions hold up the teams with the most appearances in the six years (including this year's projections) of the playoff are:

Clemson 5
Alabama 5
Oklahoma 4
OSU 3
Oklahoma 3

Oregon 1
FSU 1
Michigan State 1
Washington 1
Georgia 1
Notre Dame 1
LSU 1

Participants in the five National Championship Game to possess the Vagina Trophy:

Alabama 4
Clemson 3

OSU 1
Oregon 1
Georgia 1

A clear meritocratic aristocracy of Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma, OSU, and OU. Too predictable, too, too predictable. How do you tweak it if you should, if you dare? I have no answers. I reiterate though, this is boring and it is not what was envisioned.
