That is a leetle high based on the expectation and the day is not yet complete. The expectation will would be a similar number for tomorrow, Monday. As always, the seven-day averages even things out and are more reliable. From NYT through Aug. 15:

Hard to see unless you enlarge it: the Cases seven-day average is no longer a plateau. It has gently inched down, looks like, the last two iterations.

The Deaths seven-day average has crept up, it looks like just the last iteration. That is not what Publocc expected but Publocc is a known mo-ron.
