#4 Notre Dame 47 #1 Clemson 40

You could see this coming. The game was in South Bend, Clem had been without Trev the last week and looked shaky. Didn't have Lawrence today either. Brian Kelly usually coaches his charges up for a big game during the season, then falls on his ass if he is unfortunate enough to make the CFP.

The surreality of 2020 continues in sport. Indiana is 3-0; PSU is 0-3 (Something is organically wrong in  Trumpie Valley. I don't intuit that; the players say it and Deez Nuts obliquely referred to it post-game. The local beat writers say PSU looked shockingly "spiritually unprepared" today, lackadaisical, uninterested. A first under James Franklin.) PSU was never in this game, at home, against their personal bitch, Maryland. Bottom rail on top this time. Maryland dominated, dominated PSU 35-19, the "Lions" last score a pathetic TD with 12" left in the game.

Intense angst in Ann Arbor. Indiana looked like they were playing a Div I-AA team today, having their way with Jim Harbaugh's “Wolverines" by almost an identical margin as MD's beat-down of PSU, 38-21.

What a difference getting your starting QB back for Pitt in Tallahassee. The "Panthers" destroyed Mike Novell's Semi-Holes 41-17,snapping a four game losing streak with extreme unction.

Dabo Babers lost another one in upstate. The "Pigeons" of Boston College handed the “Orangemen” their seventh loss in eight played 16-13.

In any other year Dabo and Jimbo might be gone already. Their slides in this shortened, weird season have been alarming. But every head prof of pigskin will get a pass this year. The biggest conundrum is what the heck is going on in State College, Pa. Never been anything like it in James' years there. Bitch of a thing to change, mental states. Shocking and fascinating. Keep an eye on PSU.

And Nebraska is making zero progress under Scott  Frost. The "Huskers" are 0-2, were not competitive last week against  OSU and lost at Northwestern today in Evanston 21-13.
