Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio reportedly arrested in DC

Enrique Tarrio, the leader of the Proud Boys, a violent far-right, pro-Trump group known for street brawling, was arrested in Washington, DC today, the New York Times reported.

Tarrio’s arrest comes days before planned pro-Trump protests in Washington on Wednesday, organized by right-wing activists who falsely allege election fraud and who want to overturn the results of the presidential election in Trump’s favor. Upon his arrest, he was found to have two high-capacity firearm magazines and charged accordingly with possession.

The protests are expected to bring chaos and violence to the streets of Washington, including renewed violent attacks by the Proud Boys on left-wing counter-protesters, the Washington Post reported.
