From Bad to Good:
7-day daily averages
69,770 Cases/day. Down.
64,554 Hospitalizations/day. Down.
1,916 Deaths/day. Up.
2.96% D-H. UP.
Daily raw
110,070. Cases. WAY UP—59% up over Feb. 18! That is such an outlier, and so outlandish a jump in one day (!), that I wonder if there is something fishy going on with the reporting.
2,706. Deaths. Up, the fourth straight day of uppsies, which really bums me up. The D-H% will be up when the new numbers come out Sunday, which makes me a liar that it would be at or better than 46-1’s last week. Which really bums me up. Today is the last full day of the reporting week, the daily numbers reported Sunday (for Saturday, Feb. 20) will be down but the four straight days increases in Deaths will cascade through the 14-day changes, the 7-day daily averages, and the D-H, all of which will be up and the shocking, really, increase in Cases reported today (for the 19th) will also flatten the 14-day and 7-day numbers.
14-day changes
-45% Cases.
-30% Hospitalizations.
-34% Deaths.
Those are fantastic numbers, period. Deaths decline exceeds Hospitalizations again. Fabulous, period. The difference is not as robust as it was yesterday. Not fabulous.
Not a good day.
