#14 BYU-Georgia Southern. Mid-season cupcake. I have a lot of respect for Brigham Young. No prediction on this mis-match.
#15 Texas San Antonio-Southern Mississippi. "Roadrunners" 9-0. No prediction.
Mississippi State-#16 Auburn. "Cowbells" were 17th before losing last week at Arkansas by three. This week they have one vote for inclusion in the top 25. They beat NC State by two touchdowns, won at Texas A&M, and beat #12 Kentucky. Sounds brutal for playing in the NFL South but what are you supposed to do with a team that's 5-4? They fucking could reasonably win this game! If the 'Ouse makes Albern more than a three-point pick, I will be extremely tempted to play Miss. State. Aub-3.
Temple-#17 Houston. Houston, you have liftoff. No prediction.
#19 Iowa-Minnesota. Whaddya do with a 20th ranked team that loses at HOME to Illinoise 14-6? Drop their asses out and don't give 'em a single vote. That's what AP did. "Goldy" had been on a four game winning streak too, before that Twin Cities Travesty. They won at Purdue. This is just an ugly ass game. Iowa blows, I don't care what their record or ranking is, they just blow. They had to change QB's last week, you know, to give the team a "spark". It paid off (I guess), they beat Northwestern in Evanston 17-12. Iowa is setting back college football. They have some of the ugliest wins. What does Vegas do with this dog? I don't know, Iowa-3.
#20 Wisconsin-Northwestern. "Boogers" are Texas A&M very light, they've righted their season winning five in a row but against Illinoise, Army, did clobber Purdue there, did clobber Iowa in WI, did murder Rutgers there. Believe it or not, that last one impressed me more than any of the others did. So, WI is really on a roll and they will roll the "Mildcats." WI-15.
#22 Coastal Carolina I don't care.
#24 Loseiana. No prediction.
#25 Pitt-North Carolina. Both
L's this season have been at home. Both to heavy underdogs. Both because Pat Narduzzi got out-coached. Mack Brown is a damned sight better coach than Tim Lester or Manny Diaz. And Mack has a great QB in Sam Howell. Pitt had lost six straight to UNC before beating them in 2019 in Pittsburgh. Narduzzi doesn't learn. Vulnerable to the deep ball against Western Michigan, he let Miami complete bomb after bomb two weeks ago. I don't know why Pitt was so unprepared against Miami. You could see that coming a hundred miles away. Not seen TVD before, I guess. It's tempting to see this game as a "Hurricane" repeat. Like Miami, North Carolina has more talent on the roster. Will Vegas see this as Groundhog Day for the
? It's gonna be another shootout, shouldn't be, but gonna be. Mark Whipple and Kenny Pickett are the co-head coaches at Pitt, Narduzzi isn't one of them. If they ran the ball to keep the "Tar Heels" O off the field... If, if, if, then they wouldn't be Pitt. UNC and Howell played a heroic game last week in South Bend. I don't think Vegas will see it this way (tell ya a secret psst I don't see it that way either, I think Pitt is due to win one of these shootouts). I predict the 'Ouse will make Pitt-3.
Any plays, Friday 4:45 pm.
