The Picksburgh "Stillers" officially made the National Concussion League playoffs a short time ago. The "Stillers" are playoff-bound on an improbable set of circumstances. First, the Indianapolis "Dolts" had to loose to Div. I-AA Jacksonville State, the "Jag-you-ares" of the 2-14 record entering the game. The "Jags" annihilated Indy 26-11. It was 26-3 when the "Dolts" tacked on a meaningless TD with minutes remaining. Then Pittsburgh had to beat arch-rival Baltimore, a .500 team, in MD. They did, barely, in overtime after a clutch pass completion by Ben Roethlisberger on 4th and 8 set up the game-winning field goal. Finally, all the "Stillers" needed to secure a spot in the post-season was somebody to win the L.A. "Chargers"-Las Vegas "Raiders" game in Call Girl City. That is, the game couldn't end in a tie. Sounded like a pretty sure bet but it was a close thing. The "Chargers" sent the game to OT with a TD with 0.02 left in regulation. The two AFL teams traded field goals in the extra period until, with 0.02 left agayne, LV's Daniel Carlson kicked a 47-yard FG that won the game. The kick sent the "Raiders" and "Stillers" both into the post-season. This is Big Ben's last season in the City of Champions and he has had it extended, improbably, in the last two games, and especially in this one. "Stillers" will play the "Chieves" in KC on Jan. 16.

The New York "J-E-T-S! JETS! JETS! JETS! of course are home for the remainder of the winter, through the spring and into the summer, as is their custom..
