In 2016 especially and to a lesser extent in 2020 there was the "silent Trump voter" who, out of shame, kept his black light under a bushel and was undercounted by pollsters. Suzanne C. Davis' tweet got me thinking that now it is plausible that Trump's support is overcounted. For the same reason: shame. Ms. Davis believes that her family sticks with Trump out of shame, to do otherwise would be to admit being "wrong and ignorant." It is plausible to me that there are 2016 and 2020 Trumpists who tell family members and perhaps pollsters that they are Forever Trump who, when they get into the absolute privacy of the voting booth, will cast a silent vote against Trump.
