Zone defense is effective to play, humiliating to play (you're not good enough to go mano-a-mano), and boring to watch. You can't re-outlaw the zone but you could at least keep players moving by setting a clock for time spent exclusively behind the arc: 2-3 secs.

The zone acts like a ball-and-cup with the 3-point line and creates open looks. Man defense, obviously not as much.
