Worked five hours today all on flashcards. We completely wiped out our almost 900 card deficit. Ana did spectacularly today. I see more now the value of the flashcards. As Ana ripped through one after another after tens and scores and hundreds, she had the luxury of pausing and reading the explanation, now solidifying her understanding rather than just her memory of the right answer (my practice). Tomorrow she will have a new shuffle of hundreds to impress me on.
Studying together remotely has been seamless. And more efficient. Even when I picked her up at her mother-in-law's house, it was 10 minutes travel time roundtrip, exclusive of chatting briefly with my (second) ex and/or her common law, or stopping at CVS for liquid intelligence. We have not even that small friction of time now. And since Ana is in her new place, she's less isolated. Her husband, my son, was home all today and got to see how hard and how expertly his wife works. I could see Ana pick up with him around. Said she when we finished at 3:05, "This was good for my morale."
Pics from the day, the success of which is measured only by constancy at the extraordinarily difficult and taxing work and the constant learning.
