I just googled:
Answer is!
Silver linings:
I am not used to reliance on Poles, although I was a t-shirt wearing Solidarnosc supporter in 1980. I have only the vaguest recollection of the mid-2010's upset and 2023 restoration. The key is the degree of democratic erosion. We are not yet ten months in to Trump Parte Deux and he is doing his damnedest at erosion: The Supreme Court is packed; Congress is in his hands; he has taken steps to rig the mid-term elections in 2026; he is stifling any whiff of dissent in the streets and the press; he has sent federal troops into opposition cities exclusively; he has ordered the Justice Department to indict his political opponents. But one cannot say, YET, that "the process of erosion" of democracy and law is complete. Trump's gettin' there with alacrity, though. Democrats and democrats are fighting back: Newsom, Pritzker, the Left.
But historically, we have only, perhaps, Poland. Democracy in America has elected an authoritarian TWICE. Voters are clear-eyed determined to cross the Rubicon and leave democracy behind and no country has ever crossed back previously without violence.
