Pitt basketball, there is actually a bit of silver glowing at the edge of the dark gray cloud cover. I have been following game by game and the short-pantshave been playing major teams close: a one-point loss at home to Minnesota, a one-point loss at home to Virginia, another one-point loss to Notre Dame at home; a three-point loss at Louisville, a two-point win over BC; they did get blown out at Syracuse 77-61 but followed that with a solid double-digit upset of Louisville in a rematch yesterday, 65-53. Pitt was 6-10 entering the game, Lou, who were 4.5 point faves, 10-6. Now the records are 7-10 and 10-7 respectively. That's three losses by a combined eight points and two wins in eight days over ACC opponents. Theare 2-4 in conference play. Not great, not good. Respectable? Getting there!
