Holy Jesus Christ, the Miami "Heat" are burning the Charlotte "Hornets" 67-50 at halftime in professional short pants basketball. Those two teams, and one or two others, finished with identical records in the regular season. Miami is overwhelmingly favored to win the series but in either six or the maximum seven games. The series was expected to be extremely close. This is just one half of one game! The entire game might be a blowout and the series could still go seven but may we say that this half is not a strong harbinger for Charlotte? We may.

Cleveland beat Detroit at Republican National Convention Arena. Yeah, so big deal, that was expected no? Si. However, not the way it went down. Detroit led for most of the game, led at the half, after three quarters, and about half way through the fourth before succumbing 106-101. Cleveland was an 11 point favorite going in. Nor, I am quite sure, was Cleveland expected to let the "Pistons" shoot 50.7% for the game! In this one they were the "Clevelan" Cavaliers, no D. That is embarrassing. They gotta get their defense back or they ain't goin' back to the Finals.
