Cruz suspended his campaign last week after losing the Indiana primary handily to Trump. Cruz on Tuesday blamed media executives and their primary coverage for the rise of Trump.
"We are about to see that same ferocious fury now turn against Donald" in favor of likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, Cruz said.

I forgot about that. That is a Republican take on the media and Trump, a quintessentially American right wing take: It's all a conspiracy, see? You don't see? Think Th. Jefferson, the Dec. of Ind. and George III. Ahh! Right? Now here, it's impossible to discern the architecture of the conspiracy from that generic quote from Cruz. It goes something like this: the Media, singular, the "Fourth Estate," of course wants Hillary Clinton to be president; is DESPERATE for Hillary Clinton to be president; did not see how that could possibly be effectuated with the excellent alternatives, like Rafael, the Republicans had to offer; and then, and here there is divergence among the theorists, happily, this divergence is not fatal to the conspiracy theory in the end, either the Fourth Estate got Donald J. Trump, Jr. to run, one, or two, when Trump, erstwhile Democrat, announced independently of nefarious influence his candidacy the Fourth Estate had the Mother of all Orgasms and saw in their spewing bodily essence the answer to the vexing question "How can Hillary Clinton defeat Ted Cruz." "Or Chris Christie." For instance; and as one, as the Fourth Estate, decided to gush all over their cameras or word processors in the case of pencils, their rapturous enthusiasm for He-of-the-Stumpy-Fingers, showering him with $2 billion in free advertising, to the destruction of Rafael Edward Cruz aforesaid, Kris Krispie Kreme aforesaid, the Republican Party and the conservative movement-It is a gooey, messy conspiracy.-AND to the deliverance of the Ovarian Office to Hillary Clinton aforesaid and the Democratic Party. That is what Cruz is alluding to.
See? In conversation once a court reporter friend asked me if I thought it plausible infamous forces had worked this evil. Honest Injun, man.
