“I think he could come apart, you know, in some kind of visible way. I think that's quite possible. ... I'm not a psychiatrist, but there is something wrong with [the] guy.”
-Republican Mark Salter, former aide to Sen. John McCain and Hillary Clinton supporter.
There was that professor who suggested Trump had some real mental illness. I speculated that when Trump left New Hampshire right before the primary to return to New York, then couldn't get back because of snow, which did not prevent 90-year old Barbara Bush from getting to N.H. at the same time, that Trump may have had a nervous break. No evidence of that but no reasonable explanation for his trip out at that time nor for his inability to get back. He also made a bizarre, serious error im judgment in skipping that debate in Iowa. He acknowledged afterward that that was a mistake so he had that measure of self-awareness. Bad decision to go after Heidi Cruz, too. Also an acknowledged mistake. He seems manic, a little paranoid, erratic. I thought he might be on something, prescription of course, but prescription speed maybe. He told AP he doesn't think voters are entitled to have his tax returns. Voters have no legal right to them, that is certainly true, but unless there really is a "bombshell" in his taxes that is another mistake in judgment. Do voters have a legal right to a major party nominee's health records? To an independent medical and psychological eval? I don't know. For sure. The public does get the president's health report but I don't know if by tradition, like with tax returns, or by law. There are some specifically articulable reasons to have Trump get a publicly available complete physical, mental and emotional workup.
